Fortnite: Top 4 Weapons to Dominate the Island in Season 7
Sept 2, 2021
Like all BR games, Fortnite has a ton of weapons you can use to bring the pain to your opponents. Whether it’s punchy pistols, rapid-fire machine guns, or explosive rocket launchers, Fortnite has tools of destruction for days. While they’re all super fun to use and will get the job done, there is a shortlist of weapons that stands head and shoulders above the rest each season. Season 7 is no exception.
Below we have assembled the top 4 weapons in Fortnite that are surely going to be on everyone’s radar in Season 7.
1) Rail Gun
If you remember this bad boy from other shooter games, you know why it’s at the top of the list. It may not be a one-hit kill in Fortnite, but it does make up that in several ways. For starters, it can blast through buildings and structures, dealing the full brunt of its damage in the process. Furthermore, it’s got great range with no drop-off so you can snipe from afar. The downside of the Rail Gun is that it needs to be charged for a couple of seconds and its reload time is relatively long. The high damage it deals combined with its advantages, though, more than make up for them.
2) SCAR Assault Rifle
This Fortnite staple weapon is an old faithful that never gets vaulted, which means it’s always relevant in the game’s meta. It’s got low recoil which means your shots are easier to land. It’s also very effective at short and mid ranges yet can still hold its own at longer distances. On top of all that, the SCAR has very good damage dealing anywhere between 35-36 damage per shot to the body. It is, all in all, a powerful gun that is worthy of being in any player’s arsenal.
3) Rocket Launcher
The Rocket Launcher is always an oldie-but-a-goodie in any shooter, and Fortnite is no exception. In fact, it’s an absolute monster of a weapon, which is why Epic has made it such a rare gun to find. For starters, direct hits from the Rocket Launcher can one-shot pretty much any target. Should your shots miss, you still have the splash damage from their explosions that are still quite painful. One other benefit of the Rocket Launcher is that it’s an absolute beast when it comes to taking down enemy structures, so be sure to save your rockets for the late stages of the game where building is important.
4) Recon Scanner
We know the Recon Scanner doesn’t do much damage (only 5 damage, making it the lowest DPS weapon in the game) but let’s get real for a moment. Knowing where your opponents are is an advantage that’s hard to pass up. After all, knowledge is power. The fact that you can get the jump on anyone by knowing their position will instantly make the rest of your arsenal that much stronger by default. Pair this with the Rail Gun's ability to blast through buildings, and you have a devastating combo. Overall, don’t pass up on this bad boy if you ever come across it.
